This course will be presented through Webct.  However, the webct website is still under construction.  So to keep us from getting behind, I have included a list of the chapters, assignment and other information you will need to get started.  When webct is up and running, we will then transfer over to that format. 

Here is a weekly calendar. 

August 28th - September 2nd    

• First week of classes.  Read the Syllabi for this course.  A copy should have been mailed to you.  If you do not have a copy, then you can obtain one through the link above. 

• We will start by reading chapters 1, 15 and 16. 

• Please send me an email to mconnely@caspercollege.edu and let me know that you are on board.

• Your first Homework assignment is on astronomy.  Go to www.stardate.org, put your curser at the teachers link at the top of the page and scroll down to classroom activities.  Choose an activity and perform this project with your family, children, friends or other willing participants.  Write a brief description on what activity you did and what you liked or disliked about that activity.  How did it work with your group?  Would you do this again in your own classroom?  Email me your assignment.  Put the write up in the actual email and not as an attachment.   This assignment is Due Sept. 9th. 

• Labs:

  • If you are taking the Live Lab on Campus, we will meet at 9am to 5pm on Sat. Sept. 23 with a trip to the Casper Planetarium at 7pm.  The topic this month is "Sky watchers of Africa".  Please bring your family and friends to the planetarium show.  Sunday we will meet at 8am to 4pm on Sunday at the Tate Geological Museum, room 121 at Casper College. 

  • If you are planning on doing the lab kit, you should start lab # Virtual Field Trip 1.  When finished, email me your answers. 

September 3d - 9th

• You should be finishing your readings in Chapters 1, 15 and 16. 

• Go to the back of the chapters in your book and quiz yourself on the questions listed there. 

• Finish the homework assignment and turn it in. 

• We should be in Webct by the end of this week.
