Carl Linne, later latinized to "Carolus Linnaeus," is perhaps the best known University of Uppsala scientist. His lab, house,  greenhouse, and garden have been restored as a museum near the university.

A portion of Linnaeus' garden, with the labs and greenhouses towards the back.

Susan studying the plants in Linnaeus' garden - everything is well labeled, and set out according to notes left by Linnaeus. It is said that some of the perennials actually date from his time, but this is difficult to prove. Certainly the large trees surrounding the garden are old enough to have been planted during Linnaeus' time.
