Filezilla Installation and Usage Instructions for Casper College Users

  • Visit "http://filezilla-project.org/download.php" and click on "Download FileZilla".
  • Download the latest version of Filezilla (2.2.29 in figure below) and save it to your Desktop
  • No need to download "Filezilla Server" or "System DLL updater" (see figure below)

  • On the next screen select the file for your system's achitecture, Windows systems file has red arrow next to it the figure below.

  • Install Filezilla by double-clicking the setup file you just saved to your Desktop (see figure below)

  • Use default selections for install
  • To use Filezilla, double-click the Icon (shortcut) the installation program created on your Desktop.
  • Click on "File", then "Site Manager..."
  • Click "New Site" and type in "Wind" (see figure below)
  • Fillin the following fields "Host", "Port", "Servertype", "Logontype" and "User" (use the figure below for example)
  • Click "Save and Exit" to save these settings to the Site Manager (see figure below)

  • The next time you start Filezilla click on "File", then "Site Manager..." and select the site you just saved then "Connect" to avoid typing in the information again.
