Can I configure my computer to use another printer?

Most of the CC Academic Network printers use a naming convention that simplifies finding a printing resource by physical location. Printer names are a combination of the building, room number, printer make and model. As an example "BU125HP4100" is a Hewlett-Packard 4100, located in the Business building, room 125. To setup another printer for your computer to use, follow these steps:

Click on "Start", "Settings", "Printers"
Click on "Add Printer" to start the wizard

Click "Next"

Select "Network Printer" then click "Next"

Click "Browse"

Expand "Ccmain", and select the print queue you wish to print to.
(Queue names based on building and room number)

Print queue selected, click "Ok"

Click "Next"

Select "HP" under manufacturer, and the model under Printers.
If the model you're looking for is not there, then click "Have Disk..."
If the printer model you're looking for is listed, the click HERE to skip down.

Browse to the "S:\drivers\" directory or
"\\ccmain\app\winapps\drivers" directory
and follow the directories to your printer model, and your operating system. Finally locate the drivers for PCL5 or PCL6 (PCL6 if 5 & 6 both listed)

Click "Ok"

Select your printer language (usually PCL6), and Click "Next"

If you want this printer to be your default printer, then select "Yes",
Click "Next"

Click "Finish"

If your "Printer test Page" printed out OK, you're done!
