Most college employees have three passwords:
1. Your Novell Network login password is used for login to Novell Client, Novell Data Synchronizer,
Moodle, WebAdvisor, ImageNow, wireless networks, Library databases and more.
2. Your GroupWise password is used only for GroupWise.
3. Your Windows (local computer) password is used only to log into the local computer.
1) How to Change Your Novell Network Password
On Campus from Command Prompt - XP Only
- Click "Start" then "All Programs" then "Accessories"
- Select "Command Prompt" and a black DOS window should open
- At the command prompt, type "setpass" and press <Enter>
- When prompted, enter your old (current) password, and then the new
- When finished, close the "DOS" window, and you're done.
On Campus using the Novell Client - XP, Windows 7, Vista
- Log in to the network if you are not already logged in.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter your current password in the Old Password box.
- Enter the new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes.
- Click OK.
On or Off Campus - XP, Windows 7, Vista, Mac
- Click here to open the password change dialogue in Virtual Office
- Please click through any certificate error warnings (this certificate can be trusted).
- Login to Virtual Office
- You should be at the Virtual Office password change dialogue, if not click on the "Lock" icon at the top
- Fill-in the required fields
- Click "Logout" when finished
2) How to Change Your GroupWise Password
On or Off Campus using GroupWise WebAccess
- Log in to WebAccess.
- Click on "Options".
- Click "Password".
- Follow Instructions.
- Click "Save".
On Campus using the GroupWise Client for Windows
- Log in to GroupWise.
- Click on "Tools" then "Options".
- Double-click "Security".
- Click "Password" tab.
- Enter your old (current) password, then press the TAB key.
- Enter new password, then press the TAB key.
- Enter new password again, then press the TAB key.
- Check the box next to "No password required with eDirectory"
- Click "OK".
3) How to change your Windows password.
Changing your Windows password through the Windows Control Panel
- XP
- Click "Start"
- Click "Control Panel"
- Click "User Accounts"
- Click "User Accounts" again
- Click your account
- Click "Change my password"
- Follow instructions
- Windows 7
- Click "Start"
- Click "Control Panel"
- Click "User Accounts"
- Click "Change your password"
- Follow instructions
Changing your Windows password to match your Novell password if not using the Control Panel method above here.
- Start your workstation.
- Enter your Novell Network username and password.
- (Conditional) If necessary, change other login parameters, such as tree, context, server, etc.
- Click OK.
- Enter your workstation username and password.
- Check the check box labeled "Change your Windows password to match your Novell password after a successful login."
- Click OK.
