GroupWise Notify is a utility that will alert you when you have new
mail in your GroupWise mailbox. It should already be installed on your computer.
It launches at the same time GroupWise is executed. Then it runs in the System
Tray and either looks like a globe (no mail) or an envelope on a globe
.
Using Notify
- When you receive a new message you will see a pop-up. Alarms
on calendar items will trigger a pop-up before the
appointment as configured when the appointment was created.
- You will also see the Notify icon with an envelope on it in the System Tray.

- Click the icon to launch the notify dialog box.
- You will see a list of all unread messages.

- You can read and/or delete messages from the notify dialog box as well without ever opening GroupWise.
Changing Notify Options
- To change options in Notify, right click the Notify icon in the System Tray.

- Choose Options.
- You
can change how often Notify looks for messages, how long it displays
the pop up, what folders to look in for new messages, etc.
- On the Notify and Alarms tabs, you can select a sound file to play when a new message.
- You must make sure the file selected exists on your PC in the location specified.
- Your sound card must be installed, speakers turned on and the volume up loud enough to hear it.
-
Remember, some sound files can be irritating to those who sit in close
proximity to your computer. Be considerate when choosing sound files.
