GroupWise 8 Client Rollout Information

Later in the year...
(3rd or 4th quarter) after GroupWise 8.1 is released we will be upgrading everyone's computer to that version.

Currently...
The GroupWise 8.0 client is available now, not only for early adopters and power users but anyone else who would like to begin using the new features of GroupWise 8 prior to the 8.1 release.

Those of you that don't care to upgrade prior to the release of 8.1 can continue to use the currently installed 7 client until that time.

Installation...

Do-it-yourselfers running Windows XP can install as described next:
1. Close GroupWise and any other open programs
2. Make a copy of your GroupWise Archive folder if you have one
3. Click "Start" then "Run" and enter the following into the Run window:
\\Gw\sys\PUBLIC\grpwise\software\client\win32\setup.exe
4. Click OK
5. If you see "Error 1719:" the install will abort...try running it again
6. Progress will show (slowly at first), wait for the window confirming setup is complete

• The GroupWise 8 User Guides for Windows, Mac and WebAccess are available from the "GroupWise Learning Resources" web page.
• The GroupWise "GroupWise Learning Resources" web page has been updated with new content for GW8, plus all existing GW7 content still applies to GW8.
• Mac users - ask for a Quick Reference Card for the new GroupWise 8 Client for Mac
